Meet my friend Chris! We’ve been friends since the 6th grade. We were inseparable all throughout high school and most of our college days. Now that we’re mamas, time to hang out and have a girls night hasn’t been so easy. With work, family and life in general, our calls and texts became fewer and fewer as our lives in mamahood continued to evolve. We strive to be the best mama we can be to our babies and sometimes we tend to overlook relationships beyond our personal families. And you know, it just happens.
What I’ve learned is to plan ahead! Every month my girl friends and I choose one day for us to catch up. Whether it’s for a quick coffee date, lunch date, getting our nails done together or just simply one us coming over to hang out at home even if it’s just for a little while.
Chris and I just get busier and busier as our families grow, but when we find the time to see each other it’s just like picking up from where we left off (which always results to us laughing so hard that I could pee my pants ). These monthly catch up sessions let us know we’re still here for each other even if we aren’t able to talk or see each other everyday like we used to. It’s important to make the time and effort for those that have shaped me into the woman and mother I am today and to continue to nourish all the relationships in my life.
